Global Payments is seeking a Senior Mainframe Software Engineer to join their team in Columbus, GA. This role is crucial in developing and maintaining mission-critical mainframe applications that support the company's payment processing systems.
The position involves working throughout the software development lifecycle using Agile Scrum methodology. The engineer will be responsible for creating, designing, coding, debugging, and implementing applications with a focus on mainframe technologies including COBOL, IMS, and DB2. They will work in a hybrid model requiring 2-3 days in office.
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of professional experience in coding, designing, developing, and analyzing data. A BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is required. Strong expertise in mainframe technologies, particularly COBOL, IMS, and DB2 is essential. Knowledge of ACE, Collections, CBR, Standard Batch, and Purge would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities include participating in all phases of the software development lifecycle, designing and delivering complex program specifications, providing in-depth analysis and development of complex code/unit testing, and advising leadership on application standards and compliance.
