As a Customer Engineer for Infrastructure Modernization at Google Cloud, you will partner with technical Sales teams to differentiate Google Cloud to customers. Your role involves helping prospective and existing customers understand the power of Google Cloud, developing creative cloud solutions and architectures, engaging in proofs-of-concepts, and troubleshooting technical questions. You will work with customers to understand their business and technical requirements, presenting practical solutions on Google Cloud.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Identifying and qualifying business opportunities
  2. Sharing enterprise infrastructure modernization expertise
  3. Demonstrating and prototyping integrations in customer environments
  4. Guiding customers through assessments of legacy application environments
  5. Recommending integration strategies and enterprise architectures

This role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role, and experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure, virtualization, or containerization platforms.

Preferred qualifications include experience in migrating applications to cloud platforms, networking concepts, database technologies, and security concepts. The role involves working with Google Cloud products to accelerate digital transformation for organizations across various industries and countries.

Responsibilities For Customer Engineer, Infrastructure Modernization, Google Cloud

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop strategies to resolve technical blockers
  • Share in-depth enterprise infrastructure modernization expertise to support technical relationships with customers
  • Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments
  • Guide customers through assessments of existing legacy application environments and provide recommendations on prioritization roadmaps for infrastructure and application modernization
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to complete solutions on Google Cloud

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 6 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role
  • Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders and executive leaders
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms
