Description For Data Scientist III, Research, Google Commerce

Google Commerce is seeking a Data Scientist III to join their Research team in Mountain View. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on evaluating and improving Google's Commerce products through data-driven insights and statistical analysis. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team tackling complex challenges in measuring quality, improving consumer products, and understanding user behavior.

The position requires strong analytical skills and expertise in Python and SQL for implementing statistical analysis and data wrangling. You'll collaborate across Engineering, Product Management, Business, and Marketing teams to develop and launch experiments that drive product improvements. The role offers competitive compensation ($127,000-$187,000) plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

As a Data Scientist III, you'll own the entire data analysis process - from gathering and validating data to building analysis pipelines and developing mathematical models. You'll work with Google's sophisticated data infrastructure to provide scalable insights that influence product development and business strategies.

Requirements For Data Scientist III, Research, Google Commerce

Python
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Operations Research, Engineering, or a related quantitative field or equivalent practical experience
  • 3 years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL), querying databases or statistical analysis, or a PhD degree
  • Excellent skills in implementing statistical analysis and data wrangling using Python and SQL
