Description For Electrical Engineer, Debug

Google's Debug team is at the forefront of combating mosquito-borne diseases through innovative technology. As an Electrical Engineer in the Debug team, you'll be part of a mission-driven initiative that combines cutting-edge engineering with public health impact.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work on developing and scaling up mosquito production and release capabilities. You'll be based in San Francisco, supporting factories worldwide that produce mosquitos, making this position ideal for someone who wants to make a global impact.

Your responsibilities will span the entire product lifecycle, from designing and developing electronic circuits to implementing firmware for embedded systems. You'll be involved in critical tasks such as analyzing circuit schematics, writing firmware for circuit bring-up, and troubleshooting circuits in the field. Responsibilities For Electrical Engineer, Debug

  • Design, simulate, and develop electronic circuits for diverse applications, collaborating with mechanical and software engineers to integrate designs into complete systems
  • Optimize circuit designs for performance, cost, and availability of components, ensuring suitability for low to mid-volume production
  • Test and troubleshoot circuits, developing basic firmware and scripts for validation and enhanced functionality, and working closely with manufacturers to meet specifications
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of electronic systems
  • Provide ongoing support for deployed designs, including on-site troubleshooting and problem resolution

Requirements For Electrical Engineer, Debug

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with ECAD software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad) for circuit design and layout
  • Experience analyzing PCB layouts, including component placement, and signal routing
  • Experience analyzing circuit schematics for circuit operation
  • Experience writing and analyzing firmware for a variety of platforms
