Google's Trust & Safety team is seeking a Lead Senior Engineering Analyst for their AI Safety Protections initiative. This role combines data analysis, machine learning, and security expertise to ensure the safety of Google's AI products. The position involves working with cutting-edge AI technologies, including Gemini and other foundational models, while collaborating with Google DeepMind.
The role requires a strong background in data analysis and project management, with opportunities to develop and implement AI/LLM-powered solutions across Google's product ecosystem. You'll be responsible for identifying trends, generating insights, and creating scalable safety solutions for AI products. As part of the Trust & Safety team, you'll collaborate with a diverse group of experts, including analysts, policy specialists, engineers, and program managers. This position particularly focuses on AI safety, requiring both technical expertise and strategic thinking to develop protective measures for Google's AI technologies.
The role offers competitive compensation, including a base salary range of $139,000-$207,000, plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Responsibilities For Lead Senior Engineering Analyst, AI Safety
- Analyze and solve problems using data and statistical methods
- Identify and prevent fraud and abuse
- Improve tools and automated systems through data analysis, technical knowledge, and present to stakeholders
- Apply statistical and data science methods to examine Google's protection measures, uncover potential shortcomings, and develop insights for continuous security enhancement
- Develop scalable safety solutions for AI products across Google by leveraging advanced machine learning and AI techniques
Requirements For Lead Senior Engineering Analyst, AI Safety
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- 5 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data
- 5 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables
- Experience with one or more of the following languages: SQL, R, Python, or C++
- Experience with machine learning systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
