Google's Data Center Engineering team is at the forefront of designing and optimizing the physical infrastructure of their data centers. As a Mechanical Design and Integration Engineer in the Data Center Systems team, you'll be responsible for developing cutting-edge DC architectures that enable state-of-the-art technologies, are efficient to operate, and globally deployable.
Your role will involve designing IT and DC infrastructure, evaluating IT platforms, and integrating them into data centers. You'll be expected to execute designs for complex systems through engineering analysis and develop qualification tests for various aspects such as vibration, shock loading, thermal conditions, and EMI.
Collaboration is key in this position. You'll work closely with the IT design team to establish interfaces and influence designs from conceptual to production stages, maximizing design synergy and deployment efficiency in data centers. As a technical lead, you'll support DC system-level design and product development throughout all deployment phases.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or related field), with at least 3 years of experience in design, 3D CAD systems, and data center or system architecture. Proficiency in 3D modeling systems and knowledge of software like Creo, Revit, Solidworks, and CATIA is highly valued.
