Google is seeking an ML Software Engineer to join their Kids and Families GenAI team, focusing on building safe and high-quality AI experiences for young users. This role is crucial in developing and implementing machine learning models that ensure safety and age-appropriateness across various modalities including text, image, video, and audio.

The position involves working on cutting-edge initiatives such as Text and Image safety classifiers for teens, Autoraters, Data-as-a-Service, and Base model steering/safety. As part of the Platforms and Devices team, you'll be contributing to Google's computing software platforms across different environments while combining the best of Google AI, software, and hardware.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software development, data structures, and algorithms, along with specific expertise in GenAI concepts and ML infrastructure. You'll be working with a talented team of engineers, applying state-of-the-art ML techniques to build safe AI experiences for kids and teens.

Requirements For ML Software Engineer, GenAI Safety, Kids and Teens

Python
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms
  • 1 year of experience with core GenAI concepts (LLM, Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models)
  • 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure
