Description For Platform Hardware Engineer, Google Cloud

Google Platforms is seeking a Platform Hardware Engineer to join their team in Taipei, Taiwan. This role is crucial in developing custom silicon solutions that power Google's direct-to-consumer products, contributing to the innovation behind products used by millions worldwide.

As a Platform Hardware Engineer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading sub-system and hardware design on data center hardware products
  • Bringing up systems and executing engineering validation in the lab
  • Gathering requirements, defining high-level architecture, executing hardware design, and product validation
  • Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, product, and deployment teams

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's or PhD preferred)
  • 4 years of experience in board design, validation, and with design tools
  • Experience with server, storage, or networking motherboard/system hardware
  • Knowledge of design, signal integrity, and power distribution techniques
  • Experience with enterprise-class hardware systems design and data center engineering
  • Skills in solving complex system issues and driving technical innovation

Requirements For Platform Hardware Engineer, Google Cloud

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in board design, validation, and with design tools (e.g., schematic capture, layout tools, lab bring up, and debug)
  • Experience with server, storage, or networking motherboard/system hardware
  • Experience with design, signal integrity, and power distribution techniques
  • Experience solving complex system issues, technical innovation, and driving technical roadmap
  • Experience with FPGA/CPLD design and interface with other disciplines including software, thermal, and mechanical
  • Experience collecting and organizing details to reproduce and explain results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
