Description For Program Manager, Data Center Construction

Google is seeking a Program Manager for Data Center Construction to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. This role involves managing large-scale data centers, computer farms, networking, and power distribution/cooling systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with data center design, development, construction, and commissioning projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing data center projects from inception to completion
  • Supporting research and development experiments, renovations, and upgrades
  • Gathering internal requirements and delivering solutions
  • Maintaining responsibility from construction to deployment
  • Resolving critical issues while adhering to project timelines and costs

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 5 years of experience in program/project management and working with technical teams in data center or mission-critical facilities. Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, and server equipment is essential.

  • 5 years of experience with electrical, mechanical, controls, security monitoring, fire safety, networking/fiber, server equipment, systems, and infrastructure
  • Experience managing large scale technical projects in a rapidly changing industry
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity
  • Demonstrated problem-solving leadership with limited oversight
