Description For Program Manager III, Materials Management, Technical Infrastructure

Google's Technical Infrastructure team is seeking a Material Program Manager III to lead supply chain readiness for multiple programs. This role is crucial in ensuring optimal cost management, multi-sourcing strategies, and material availability for new product prototypes and mass production. The position requires collaboration with Engineering, Supply Chain Operations, Supply and Demand Planning, Global Commodity Management, and Supplier/Integration partners.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in program management with a strong background in Supply Chain Operations and Inventory Management. They will be responsible for implementing processes around material management, driving supply chain readiness, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with Google's Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for building and maintaining the architecture that powers Google's extensive product portfolio. Responsibilities For Program Manager III, Materials Management, Technical Infrastructure

  • Create and implement new processes centered around material management, lead time reduction, PO placements and risk buy
  • Drive material and supply chain readiness for all NPI builds from concept phase through End of Life
  • Serve as the primary materials liaison with Suppliers, manage spend against project budgets, and manage production risk buys and strategic buffers
  • Identify and communicate supply chain risks and mitigation plans to ensure materials readiness for production builds
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and conduct regular physical inventory counts

Kubernetes
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in program or project management
  • Experience with Supply Chain Operations and Inventory Management
  • Experience across all phases of a product from prototype to mass production to end of life
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Experience delivering products, with knowledge of project management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to customize communications based on the audience
