Description For Program Manager Lead, Networking Global Supply Planning

Google is seeking a Program Manager Lead for Networking Global Supply Planning. This role involves leading complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate with cross-functional partners across the company. The position is part of the Technical Infrastructure team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining Google's data centers and building the next generation of Google platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing leadership and coaching to the Global Supply Planning team
  2. Validating demand forecasts and supporting Product Life-cycle Management
  3. Setting team goals and working globally with cross-functional teams
  4. Increasing efficiency by identifying and implementing improvement opportunities
  5. Aligning the organization around KPIs and acting as a point of escalation

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, 10 years of experience in program management, and 7 years of experience in leadership roles. Preferred qualifications include certification in Six Sigma, LEAN, or Total Quality Management, 15 years of experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing environments, and the ability to travel 20% of the time as needed.

Responsibilities For Program Manager Lead, Networking Global Supply Planning

  • Provide leadership and coaching to Global Supply Planning team across key areas of OEM hardware, optics and consumables
  • Manage procurement in line with allocated budget and drive the budgeting process
  • Validate demand forecast and ensure minimal change in demand within the frozen time window
  • Support Product Life-cycle Management team to source vendors to improve supply resiliency and drive down costs
  • Set team goals and work globally with cross-functional teams
  • Increase efficiency by identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement
  • Align the organization around the KPIs and support team in achieving goals
  • Act as a point of escalation for user problems and liaise with various teams
