Description For Security Engineer II, Chrome Product Security

Google is seeking a Security Engineer II to join their Chrome Product Security team. This role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of Chrome's operating environment for users and developers. The position involves working with the Product Security team to manage vulnerabilities, respond to security incidents, and improve security bug triage processes.

The role combines hands-on security engineering with strategic security initiatives. You'll be responsible for vulnerability management, incident response, and security update release management. Working closely with the Chrome Security team, you'll help maintain and enhance vulnerability management processes while supporting security outreach efforts.

The ideal candidate should have experience in security assessments, coding, and security protocols. You'll work on reproducing and validating security issues, participating in incident response, and supporting Chrome's security operations. Responsibilities For Security Engineer II, Chrome Product Security

  • Support Chrome's vulnerability life-cycle and security operations
  • Support efforts working across Chrome Security in identifying risks, driving security outcomes, and producing materials to support executive briefings for Chrome leadership
  • Support key security outreach efforts, such as security post-mortem processes and security advocacy
  • Reproduce, validate, and triage reports of security issues from internal teams, automation, and external security reporters
  • Participate in incident response of Chrome security incidents

Requirements For Security Engineer II, Chrome Product Security

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 1 year of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • 1 year of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
  • Experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
