Description For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

Google's Chrome Product Security team is seeking a Security Engineer III to join their team in Mexico City. This role is crucial in maintaining the security of Chrome, one of the world's most widely-used web browsers. As a Security Engineer, you'll be responsible for vulnerability management, security incident response, and security update release management. You'll work with the Product Security team to improve vulnerability management processes and support security outreach efforts.

The position combines hands-on security engineering with strategic security oversight. You'll be involved in reproducing and validating security issues, managing the vulnerability lifecycle, and creating executive briefings for Chrome leadership. The role requires both technical expertise in security engineering and the ability to coordinate with various teams to drive security outcomes.

Responsibilities For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

  • Support Chrome's vulnerability life-cycle and security operations
  • Support efforts working across Chrome Security in identifying risks, driving security outcomes, and creating executive briefings for Chrome leadership
  • Support key security outreach efforts, such as security post-mortem processes and security advocacy
  • Participate in incident response of Chrome security incidents
  • Reproduce, validate, and triage reports of security issues from internal teams, automation, and external security reporters

Requirements For Security Engineer III, Chrome Product Security

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of experience with security assessments or security design reviews or threat modeling
  • 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security and security protocols
  • 2 years of coding experience in one or more general purpose languages
