Security Platform Engineer, UK Security Operations

Google Public Sector is seeking a Security Platform Engineer to join their UK Security Operations team, focusing on delivering and securing private cloud services. This role combines security expertise with engineering skills, requiring deep technical knowledge in cloud environments and Kubernetes security. The position involves designing, building, and managing cloud-native security platforms while working closely with Incident Response Engineers.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in security engineering or DevSecOps, with strong expertise in Kubernetes security, infrastructure-as-code, and security tooling. They must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and hold UK Security Vetting Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

Key responsibilities include deploying and managing security platforms, developing monitoring strategies, investigating security incidents, and automating security workflows. The role requires participation in an on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 incident response capability.

Additional security certifications (GSEC, CISSP, CISM, OSCP) and experience with service mesh security concepts are highly valued.
