Description For Senior Hardware Engineer, Control Electronics, Quantum AI

Google is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to join their Quantum AI team in Goleta, CA. This role is part of the quantum electronics team, focusing on implementing electronics for control and readout of current and future quantum computers. The position offers a competitive salary range of $142,000-$211,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

As a Senior Hardware Engineer, you'll work alongside FPGA designers and RF/Analog or Mixed-Signal hardware engineers, collaborating with various teams in electronic, software, and quantum engineering. Your primary focus will be implementing systems for readout and control of scaled quantum processors and deploying these systems to quantum computers.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) and 4 years of hardware design experience. You should have a strong background in analog, digital, or mixed-signal design. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree, experience with PCB design tools, RF/microwave design, and system testing.

Key responsibilities include contributing to control and measurement systems design, driving board-level projects, participating in roadmapping, and supporting electronics deployment. You'll develop expertise in quantum computer electronic control and measurement needs while implementing RF or mixed-signal systems of varying complexity.
