Staff Software Engineer, Front End, Core

Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their Core team, which is responsible for building the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. This role combines technical leadership with hands-on development, focusing on front-end and full-stack development.

The position offers a competitive base salary range of $197,000-$291,000 plus bonus, equity, and comprehensive benefits. Based in either Los Angeles or Sunnyvale, CA, this role requires 8 years of software development experience with particular emphasis on front-end frameworks and full-stack development.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical leadership on high-impact projects, influencing and coaching distributed engineering teams, and managing project priorities and deliverables. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale software solutions that form the essential building blocks for Google's products.

The Core team has a unique mandate to impact technical decisions across Google, working on underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure. They look across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers, and strengthen existing systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software design and architecture, demonstrated leadership abilities, and a track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects.
