Description For Technical Program Manager, Geo

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager for their Geo team, focused on building accurate and comprehensive maps through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, and Google Maps Platform. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in technical program management and proficiency in SQL.

As a Technical Program Manager, you'll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish, working with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners. You'll need to be comfortable explaining analyses and recommendations to executives as well as discussing technical tradeoffs with engineers.

Key responsibilities include accelerating Engineering Productivity organization execution, managing portfolio planning and prioritization, driving Roadmap/OKR planning, leading key initiatives, and monitoring project progress and team performance.

The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities in an ambiguous environment, and deliver results in a timely manner. Experience creating dashboards and knowledge of the software development life-cycle are preferred.

  • Partner with Product Engineering and Engineering Productivity teams to accelerate Engineering Productivity organization execution
  • Manage the organization's portfolio planning and prioritization, partner with Engineering and Product, drive Roadmap/OKR planning, milestones, and software schedules
  • Lead key initiatives managing timelines, resources, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery of accessible products and services
  • Monitor, measure, and communicate project progress, potential risks/delays and team performance to program teams, executives, and other sponsors

Requirements For Technical Program Manager, Geo

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in technical program management
  • Experience with SQL
