Software Engineer - Platform Productivity

Grafana Labs is seeking a Software Engineer for their Platform Productivity squad within the Platform department. This role focuses on helping internal engineers release software onto the infrastructure securely and measurably. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and maintaining the Internal Engineering Platform (IEP)
• Managing and developing CI/CD platforms
• Automating build, release, and deployment processes
• Creating application configuration management tooling
• Implementing "up to date" software automation
• Managing artifacts
• Collaborating with diverse internal teams
• Participating in on-call rotations to support Platform tooling

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience in Platform engineering, delivering services to internal teams
• Cloud environment experience
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Crossplane)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes administration (experience with Tanka is a plus)
• Interest in implementing and maintaining observability systems

Upcoming projects include:

• Developing next-gen CI/CD systems
• Creating productivity tooling/automation in the IEP portal (Backstage)
• Implementing CI/CD observability
• Developing security automation for CI/CD systems

This is a remote position for candidates in the United States. The role requires strong communication skills, a willingness to learn and grow, and a holistic approach to development. The team values flexibility in choosing the right tools for the job, with Go as the primary programming language.
