Description For Associate Software Engineer/Developer

Health Research, Inc. (HRI) is seeking an Associate Software Engineer/Developer to join their dynamic team at the Wadsworth Center of the New York State Department of Health. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to public health initiatives through innovative technology solutions.

The position is part of the Wastewater Surveillance grant program, where you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining critical software applications that support laboratory operations and data management. You'll work with modern technologies including Angular, Spring, and enterprise Java, while handling complex database operations using SQL and Oracle.

The role offers a competitive annual salary of $86,019 and comes with an comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement benefits, and generous paid time off. The position allows for telecommuting options while being based in Albany, NY.

As part of the development team, you'll be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from technical design to implementation and testing.   • Support wastewater dataflows and laboratory accessioning, processing, resulting and reporting

Requirements For Associate Software Engineer/Developer

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology and three years of experience
  • Experience building web applications using modern component-based frameworks like Angular
  • Experience in application development using Spring and enterprise Java technologies

  • Experience with TypeScript
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container management solutions
  • Must reside within commuting distance of Albany, NY
