Hitachi Rail is seeking a Network and Cybersecurity Engineer to join their Technical Department in Copenhagen for the F-Bane Project, a major railway signaling modernization initiative in Denmark. This role is part of a significant project transitioning approximately 1,200 km of Denmark's railway network to the European standard ETCS Level 2 System.
The position involves supporting the design, configuration, and integration of Hitachi's Train Management System (TMS) infrastructure for the ERTMS L2 signalling system. You'll work closely with international teams in Germany, local engineers, and Banedanmark to implement secure and reliable IT network solutions. The role requires expertise in network security, ISO standards compliance, and infrastructure management.
As a Network and Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll be responsible for implementing security features, managing vulnerabilities, configuring network environments, and ensuring the overall security posture of critical railway systems. Responsibilities For IT Network and Cybersecurity Engineer
- Implement IT, network, and cybersecurity features into the system design
- Configure and support Cisco-based network environment
- Implement and test VPN solutions
- Support management and integration of digital certificates and PKI
- Assess and manage security vulnerabilities and risks
- Apply ISO 27001/27002-compliant security configurations
- Coordinate with maintenance security team
- Support test, commissioning, and maintenance teams
- Participate in Information Security Incident Response Team
- Troubleshoot and resolve IT, network, and cybersecurity issues
Requirements For IT Network and Cybersecurity Engineer
- Solid experience in IT, network, and cybersecurity design or operations
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 27001/27002 security standards
- Experience configuring and operating Layer 2/3 networks and VPNs
- Experience managing security vulnerabilities and risks
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and IT infrastructure
- Understanding of PKI and digital certificate systems
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
