Description For Data Engineer

Imprint, a innovative fintech company backed by Kleiner Perkins, Thrive Capital, and Khosla Ventures, is revolutionizing the co-branded credit card industry. They're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Engineering team, which is crucial in building and scaling data infrastructure that supports product development, analytics, operations, and machine learning across the company.

The role offers an exciting opportunity to work with modern data stack technologies including Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and various ETL/ELT tools. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, owning core components of the data stack, and partnering with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data delivery.

This position requires 6+ years of experience in data engineering or related fields, with deep expertise in Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and data warehouse best practices. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL and Python skills, experience with Change Data Capture and reverse ETL tools, and a proven track record of shipping production-grade data systems.

Responsibilities For Data Engineer

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure across batch and streaming systems
  • Own core components of Imprint's data stack, including Snowflake, dbt Cloud, Change Data Capture frameworks, and reverse ETL integrations
  • Develop and enforce best practices in data modeling, testing, observability, and governance
  • Partner with stakeholders across Product, Analytics, Finance, and Engineering
  • Work on external data integrations
  • Contribute to architectural decisions for data infrastructure scaling
  • Champion clear documentation, reproducibility, and reliability
  • Stay informed about modern data tools and trends

Requirements For Data Engineer

Python
  • 6+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or related roles
  • Expertise in Snowflake and dbt Cloud
  • Experience working with Change Data Capture, ETL/ELT pipelines, and orchestration frameworks
  • Familiarity with reverse ETL tools like Hightouch or Segment
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or similar programming language
  • Track record of technical ownership and shipping production-grade data systems
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Strong communication skills
