Description For Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Jensen Hughes is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer for their Las Vegas, NV, Phoenix, AZ, or Colorado Springs, CO office locations. This strategic growth position requires an experienced candidate who can work directly with clients and perform their own technical work ("Seller Doer"). Remote and hybrid work options are available for experienced fire protection engineers with client connections and business development capabilities.

The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in building code and fire code consulting, with strong analytical and creative thinking skills. Responsibilities include managing and implementing consulting projects, conducting building and fire code reviews, preparing technical reports, developing fire protection strategies, and effectively communicating with project team members and clients.

Key qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection Consulting
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE), preferably in Fire Protection Engineering
  • Experience with developing building code concepts, conducting plan reviews, and field inspections
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities For Senior Fire Protection Engineer

  • Manage and implement a wide variety of consulting projects
  • Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget
  • Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits
  • Prepare and peer review project-related technical reports
  • Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions
  • Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others

Requirements For Senior Fire Protection Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related field
  • 12+ years of experience in Building Code and Fire Protection Consulting
