Description For Senior Data Engineer

Jobber is seeking a highly skilled and intrapreneurial Senior Data Engineer with a strong backend focus to lead the development and evolution of our Data Integration Platform. The ideal candidate will design and maintain scalable data pipelines, ensuring seamless data operations with integrity. They will develop automated tools and frameworks to empower internal teams, enhance workflow efficiencies, and enable data-driven decision-making. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, they will drive business growth by extracting actionable insights and innovating our data infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing tools, frameworks, and workflows to reduce manual processes and enhance data accessibility
  • Building robust alerting and monitoring systems
  • Collaborating across functions to support experiments and analyses
  • Working closely with data analysts, data scientists, and product teams
  • Using tools like Airflow and dbt to streamline ETL/ELT workflows
  • Leading initiatives to research and propose emerging technologies
  • Participating in design and code reviews
  • Taking ownership of data quality

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent ETL pipeline development skills
  • Deep understanding of data warehousing principles
  • Experience with CI/CD practices
  • Proficiency in designing and developing data pipelines within cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS)
  • Strong skills in SQL, stream processing, Containerization, and AWS Lambda
  • Expertise in developing scripts, serverless applications, and automated workflows
  • Ability to explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
