Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Enterprise technology, Employee compute team, you will solve complex and broad business problems with simple and straightforward solutions.

Through code and cloud infrastructure, you will configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications and their associated infrastructure to independently decompose and iteratively improve on existing solutions. You are a significant contributor to your team by sharing your knowledge of end-to-end operations, availability, reliability, and scalability of your application or platform.

The role requires expertise in site reliability engineering principles, proficiency in programming languages like Python or Java, and experience with modern DevOps tools and practices. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies including Kubernetes, Docker, and various monitoring solutions like Grafana and Dynatrace.

Responsibilities For Site Reliability Engineer III

  • Guides and assists others in building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers
  • Collaborates with teams to design and implement deployment approaches using automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Designs, develops, tests, and implements availability, reliability, and scalability solutions
  • Implements infrastructure, configuration, and network as code
  • Collaborates with experts and stakeholders to resolve complex problems
  • Understands service level indicators and utilizes SLOs to proactively resolve issues
  • Supports the adoption of site reliability engineering best practices

Requirements For Site Reliability Engineer III

  • Formal training or certification on Site Reliability Engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Proficient in site reliability culture and principles
  • Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java/Spring Boot, and .Net
  • Proficient knowledge of software applications and technical processes
  • Experience in observability using tools like Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or Terraform
  • Familiarity with container and container orchestration such as ECS, Kubernetes, and Docker
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
