Description For Production Reliability Engineer (Software Engineering), Trading Team

Jump Trading is seeking a Production Reliability Engineer to join their Trading Team. This role combines software engineering expertise with a focus on maintaining and optimizing trading systems. As a Production Reliability Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of Jump Trading's critical trading infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement monitoring and alerting systems for trading platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in real-time trading environments
  • Collaborate with trading teams to optimize system performance and reliability
  • Design and implement automation tools to streamline operations
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for trading systems

Required Skills:

  • Strong background in software engineering and systems administration
  • Experience with Linux systems and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Knowledge of networking protocols and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
