Justworks is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to drive and execute the company's Security Architecture & Engineering function. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with strategic security implementation in a SaaS environment. The position requires deep understanding of computing fundamentals and development skills in Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, along with experience in *Nix environments and cybersecurity tools. The role spans multiple security domains including network infrastructure, application security, identity management, and data protection. Responsibilities For Senior Security Engineer
- Work with security engineers on technical design reviews to evaluate existing security controls
- Provide technical and architectural guidance on digital security
- Implement security capabilities in AWS and corporate environment
- Develop security architecture, design, and coding standards
- Work with product managers and staff engineers to implement enterprise security capabilities
- Participate in product development projects to ensure security controls
- Drive process improvement and control implementation projects
- Help Cyber Defense Operations triage incidents
- Act as a cross-functional tools and services expert
Requirements For Senior Security Engineer
- 5+ years experience in information security concepts
- Solid experience with Secure-SDLC processes and DevSecOps
- Familiar with secure coding practices and security scanning technologies
- Extensive experience in security architecture and AWS environment
- Background as a software engineer, security architect, or security engineer
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Technical experience with DevOps, Jira, and agile automation tools
- Ruby on Rails & Javascript experience
- Security Certifications preferred: CISSP, CISM, CRISC, GIAC, CCSP or CEH
