KPI Solutions is seeking a Controls Emulation Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of warehouse control systems through virtual commissioning. This role combines software engineering with industrial automation, focusing on simulating and validating warehouse management systems and material handling equipment. The position involves working with cutting-edge emulation tools like Rockwell Emulate3D and requires expertise in PLC programming, industrial protocols, and automation systems. As a team lead managing 6-8 employees, you'll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining emulation models for warehouse automation systems, ensuring smooth integration between WMS/WCS systems and physical equipment. Responsibilities For Controls Emulation Engineer
- Develop, configure, and maintain emulation models for warehouse automation systems
- Use Rockwell Emulate3D in developing systems controlled by PLC programs
- Emulate system behavior and performance
- Integrate emulation models with WMS/WCS/PLC controls
- Support functional testing and virtual commissioning activities
- Troubleshoot and debug software, control logic, and integration issues
- Collaborate with software engineers and controls engineers
- Provide feedback on design optimization
- Document test cases, test results, and emulation models
- Manage department employees (6-8 people)
Requirements For Controls Emulation Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in emulation, simulation, or controls engineering
- Experience with emulation/simulation platforms (Emulate3D, Siemens Plant Simulation)
- Understanding of WMS/WCS operations and industrial automation systems
- Familiarity with PLC logic and industrial communication protocols
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
- Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, C#, Java)
- Experience with logistics and e-commerce warehouse environments
- Experience with Scada, HMI and Ignition programs
- Knowledge of Rockwell- Studio 5000 Logix Emulate
