Description For Senior Data Engineer

KUBRA is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Analytics Team. This role involves designing and maintaining data infrastructure and ETL processes, with opportunities to collaborate on BI Analysis. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining ETL processes in AWS and Databricks, developing scalable data architectures, integrating data from diverse sources, implementing dimensional models, optimizing query performance, and creating technical documentation. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Required skills include 5-7 years of cloud experience (preferably AWS), hands-on experience with big data technologies, knowledge of AWS stack, experience with modern data lake formats, and proficiency in SQL. Responsibilities For Senior Data Engineer

  • Build, monitor, and maintain ETL processes in AWS and Databricks
  • Develop and optimize scalable, high-performance data architectures
  • Integrate data from diverse sources into unified formats for analysis
  • Design and implement dimensional models
  • Continuously optimize query performance, storage solutions, and data workflows
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation
  • May travel to visit clients throughout North America
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements For Senior Data Engineer

  • Undergraduate or Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Analytics
  • 5-7 years of cloud experience on any of the major cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
  • Hands-on experience with big data technologies like Spark, Kafka, or similar tools
  • Good knowledge of AWS stack such as S3, DMS, Glue, Lambda
  • Experience working with modern data lake formats such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake
  • Strong experience in optimizing Databricks and AWS workflows
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, optimizing query performance, and managing relational databases
  • Should have dbt skills
