Senior Platform Engineer - Database Engineering

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer specializing in Database Engineering to join their team in Pune, India. This role is crucial for providing world-class support and expertise to Mastercard's Oracle database environment. The position involves building highly available, scalable, and efficient Oracle database solutions while following standards and security policies.

The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in Oracle sub-domains and will be responsible for deploying and maintaining Oracle database clusters that support critical software products and systems used by large platforms and applications. Key responsibilities include reviewing existing configurations, planning database upgrades and migrations, providing day-to-day administration support, and participating in on-call rotation.

This role requires excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members across multiple geographies and time zones. The engineer will implement HA solutions and backup/recovery solutions, identify performance issues, and contribute to defining best practices in database administration.
