Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Mastercard is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their European Open Banking Team in Gdansk, Poland. This role represents a unique opportunity to shape the operational excellence of a global financial technology leader.

The position sits within the BizOps and SRE team, which leads Mastercard's operational transformation through tooling and advocacy for change & standards across development, quality, release, and product & engineering organizations. The team maintains a constant focus on operational excellence while identifying and mitigating technical and operational risks.

As a Senior SRE, you'll be responsible for setting technical direction for a global team and ensuring system reliability through sophisticated monitoring, automation, and optimization. The role combines hands-on technical work with strategic thinking - from managing production incidents to optimizing service lifecycles and mentoring junior colleagues.

The tech stack includes modern tools and technologies like Kubernetes (EKS), various CI/CD platforms (GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub), cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS), and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform. Optional experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk is valuable.

The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience, coupled with expertise in ITSM standards, service event management, and SRE practices. You should have a systematic problem-solving approach, excellent communication skills, and a track record of supporting production applications.
