AI Research Scientist - Language

Meta is seeking a Research Scientist to join Modern Recommendation System. The organization focuses on developing efficient foundational models as a platform to enable differentiated and delightful user experiences across Meta products. We are seeking a talented AI Research Scientist with experience in natural language processing, language models and general AI to join the team.

Responsibilities:

• Develop algorithms based on state-of-the-art machine learning and neural network methodologies.
• Define, build and benchmark the efficient foundation models for recommendation system.
• Conduct research towards long-term ambitious research goals while identifying intermediate milestones.
• Conduct research to advance the science and technology of language modeling, natural language processing and generative AI modeling.
• Work with engineering teams to ship state-of-the-art models to product.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• PhD in natural language processing, language modeling or machine learning, model compression, model optimization or related areas.
• 2+ years of industry, academic, or government lab experience in natural language processing, language modeling and/or machine learning, model compression, model optimization or related areas.
• Experience solving complex problems and comparing alternative solutions, tradeoffs, and diverse points of view to determine a path forward.
• Experience communicating research for public audiences of peers.
• Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• First-authored publications at peer-reviewed conferences (e.g. EMNLP, ACL, NAACL, ICLR, NeurIPS etc).
• 4+ year(s) of work experience in an industry, university, or government lab
