Description For Construction Manager

Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our Data Center Engineering & Construction Team. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered. Building and operating data centers the "right" way is synonymous with ensuring high uptime, capacity availability and capital conservation. The data center engineering team thinks from chip to chiller (or electrical substation), determining configurations and ensuring maximum efficiency of our compute infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the construction, commissioning, and turnover of a Data Center within a campus program
  • Manage the budget, cost change process, and schedule associated with the project
  • Communicate upward regarding the status and risks of the project
  • Negotiate vendor and contractor contracts and purchase orders as needed
  • Mitigate risk through pre-planning, innovative planning, and partnership
  • Develop cost savings solutions and identify project savings/underruns early
  • Partner with the General Contractor, Vendors, and Internal Cross Functional Partners
  • Support pre-construction efforts, capital project budgets, and construction ROMs
  • Support the on-site inspection process and local DC Ops team
  • Promote and model an attitude of continuous improvement, partnership, and teamwork
  • Support and lead an industry-leading safety culture and program
  • 10% travel to headquarters and respond to emergencies as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of work experience in construction management
  • Multi-Project experience in large scale construction management, mission critical, infrastructure, and/or data center construction
  • General knowledge of civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of capital budget management and contract administration
  • Negotiation skills and experience providing solutions to problems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards
  • LEAN Construction knowledge and application
  • Experience with P6, Procore, BIM 360, Bluebeam, MS Visio, and SharePoint
  • Building Environment Accreditations (e.g., LEED, SITES, TRUE, WELL)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working in live critical infrastructure environments
