Production Engineer

Meta (formerly Facebook) is seeking a Production Engineer to join their team in Bellevue, WA. This role sits at the intersection of software development and systems engineering, focusing on maintaining and optimizing Meta's critical infrastructure and services.

The Production Engineer will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining software services that power Meta's massive-scale applications. This includes working on backend data warehouse services, user-facing products like Messenger and Newsfeed, and core infrastructure components. The role requires a strong foundation in both software development and systems engineering, combining coding expertise with operational knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, with strong programming skills in languages like PHP, Python, C++, or Java. They should have deep knowledge of Linux/UNIX systems, networking fundamentals, and experience with various internet service architectures including load balancing, LAMP stacks, and CDNs. Familiarity with database systems, particularly MySQL, and network protocols is essential.

This position offers an attractive compensation package ranging from $132,463 to $158,400 per year, plus bonus and equity opportunities.
