As a Research Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing sophisticated robotics systems that require a careful balance of ergonomics, performance, reliability, and usability. The role encompasses everything from initial concept development to analytical modeling, prototype design, construction, and testing. You'll work with various aspects of robotics including electro-mechanics, sensor integration, communication systems, and control systems.
The ideal candidate brings 3+ years of experience in Mechanical/Electrical Design Engineering, with a strong background in machine design or electrical component development. A BS degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field is required, along with proven experience in designing electromechanical assemblies for robotics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation applications.
Key technical skills required include proficiency with CAD tools like SOLIDWORKS or Siemens NX, experience with prototyping processes and materials, embedded systems knowledge, and expertise in tolerance analysis and GD&T. Additional valuable skills include experience with simulation tools, manufacturing processes, consumer electronic product design, and automation equipment design.
Meta offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $139,000 to $200,000 per year, plus bonus and equity opportunities. The position is based in Redmond, WA, where you'll work with a diverse team of engineers and researchers pushing the boundaries of robotics technology.
