Description For Model Engineer

Meter is revolutionizing enterprise networking by applying cutting-edge AI to transform how the internet is built, monitored, and managed. As a Model Engineer, you'll join a founding core engineering team working on one of the most impactful applications of AI today.

The role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with founders and shape the future of infrastructure automation. Meter has achieved full vertical integration of the enterprise networking stack, providing unprecedented control and visibility through a single API, along with exclusive proprietary datasets.

What makes this position exceptional is the combination of real-world systems impact and frontier AI applications. You'll be building models that power fundamental infrastructure end-to-end, where reliability, accuracy, and latency are critical. With access to thousands of H100s and control over the full stack from physical cables to packet-level telemetry, you'll have unmatched resources and data advantages.

The role involves training end-to-end models for fault prediction, network state modeling, and autonomous repair. You'll build multi-modal models over structured networking data and evaluate performance in both real-world hardware and virtualized environments. As an early team member, you'll help define modeling approaches, team culture, and long-term vision alongside the executive team.

Backed by prestigious investors including Sequoia, Sam Altman, and Microsoft, Meter has achieved product-market fit and serves Fortune 500 companies, schools, factories, and cloud-scale clients. The compensation package includes a competitive salary range of $163,000 - $300,000, equity participation, and comprehensive benefits including full medical coverage, 401k, parental leave, and on-site meals.

The ideal candidate should have experience building and scaling neural networks, possess strong systems thinking capabilities, and be excited about modeling physical world infrastructure. This is an opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a new applied research organization while working on cutting-edge AI applications with real-world impact.
