Description For Network Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations + Innovations Team (CO+I) is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team in designing and implementing Microsoft's Corporate Network (CorpNet) within Microsoft's Datacenters. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge network infrastructure in one of the world's leading technology companies. The position involves collaborating with various teams to design and implement WAN, LAN, and WLAN networks, creating detailed network designs, and ensuring smooth deployment of network solutions. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with up to 50% work from home flexibility and requires 0-25% travel. Responsibilities For Network Engineer

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define WAN, LAN and WLAN hardware requirements
  • Design and implement CorpNet and enhance existing networks efficiency
  • Develop comprehensive High-Level Network Designs (HLDs) for Cisco WAN and LAN
  • Create detailed Low-Level Designs (LLDs) for configuration and implementation
  • Prepare Bill of Materials (BOMs) for equipment and components
  • Participate in design review meetings
  • Create Network Design Template (NDT) and Patching Templates
  • Generate and upload staging documents
  • Provide regular network status updates to stakeholders
  • Support Project Closeout activities and troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate documentation and network diagrams

Requirements For Network Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field
  • Working knowledge of wireless design processes
  • Experience with Ekahau and Visio
  • Experience in designing and deploying Cisco WAN/LAN and HPE/Aruba solutions
  • Understanding of network protocols, topologies, and routing/switching technologies
  • Ability to create High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs)
  • Knowledge of network security principles
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Self-motivated with ability to work remotely
