Description For Senior Security Systems Service Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Senior Security Systems Service Engineer to join their team that powers cloud services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. This role involves working with physical security systems in Microsoft's global portfolio of 200+ datacenters across 32 countries.

The position requires expertise in physical access control systems and large-scale distributed systems. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining critical infrastructure platforms that secure Microsoft's datacenters globally. Key responsibilities include system design, operational excellence, and incident response.

As a Senior Security Systems Service Engineer, you'll:

  • Develop expert-level understanding of physical access control systems
  • Optimize configurations for improved availability, reliability, and performance
  • Create and maintain security-first SOPs and standards
  • Implement scalable solutions for critical physical security systems
  • Participate in on-call rotations for incident response
  • Partner with security and compliance teams

The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of technical experience. Experience with enterprise-level physical access control systems (like LenelS2, Software House) is preferred.

Requirements For Senior Security Systems Service Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 5+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, service engineering, or systems engineering
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
  • 3+ years technical experience working with large-scale cloud or distributed systems (preferred)
  • 3+ years technical experience with enterprise level physical access control system (preferred)
