This role focuses on designing, building, implementing, maintaining, and refreshing image and sound technology systems in Netflix creative environments. The ideal candidate will have broad technical skills in image and sound technology integration, post-production workflows, and a development and automation-focused mindset. Key responsibilities include working on integrated systems and backbone technical infrastructure, partnering with construction teams, collaborating cross-functionally, and implementing remote observability and support for distributed systems. The role requires at least 5 years of systems engineering experience, strong knowledge of audio and video signal transmission, and experience with various post-production environments. Responsibilities For Media Systems Engineer L4
- Design, deploy, and maintain image and sound integrated systems
- Partner with construction teams to define facility needs
- Collaborate cross-functionally to implement infrastructure
- Develop roadmap for creative infrastructure strategy
- Implement and support far-reaching strategic efforts
- Engage in remote observability and support of distributed systems
- Travel approximately 20% of the time
- Handle engineering escalations
Requirements For Media Systems Engineer L4
- At least 5 years experience in systems engineering
- Strong knowledge in transmission, transport, and routing of audio and video signals
- Knowledge of AV control/automation systems
- Understanding of OSI network model
- Experience designing, building and supporting theatrical exhibition, post production, and high-end home theater environments
- Ability to identify imperfections in compressed or miscalibrated A/V signals
- Self-organization and prioritization skills
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback
- Problem-solving and ownership mentality
- Experience in interpreting and developing technical documentation
