Description For Security Engineer (L5) - IAM

Netflix is seeking a Security Engineer (L5) specializing in Identity and Access Management (IAM) to join their Identity Integrations and Solutions Engineering (IISE) team. This role offers a unique opportunity to design and build Identity and Access security solutions for Netflix's global employee and partner user base, spanning across Enterprise, Studio, Gaming, Ads, Live Streaming, and more.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Architecting, building, and operating complex Identity Lifecycle and Access Control solutions
  • Designing and implementing authentication and authorization standards and protocols
  • Creating complex Access Models using industry standards like RBAC/ABAC/PBAC
  • Developing and maintaining low latency, high resiliency, and high-availability services
  • Collaborating with partners across Security and Engineering organizations

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong IAM fundamentals and experience with authentication/authorization protocols
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Proficiency in Java (preferred) or Python
  • Excellent communication skills and a product-focused mindset

Responsibilities For Security Engineer (L5) - IAM

  • Design and build Identity and Access security solutions for Netflix's global employee and partner user base
  • Focus on core Identity Lifecycle Management, Consultation, and Solutions
  • Implement, integrate, and rollout IAM solutions
  • Work on fine-grained access controls, policy driven security, identity governance, access management, privileged access management, user provisioning/deprovisioning, and federation
  • Develop and maintain low latency, high resiliency, and high-availability services
  • Collaborate with partners across Security and Engineering organizations

Requirements For Security Engineer (L5) - IAM

Java
Python
  • Strong IAM fundamentals - AAA (Authentication, Authorization, Accountability), and Identity lifecycle
  • Experience with authentication and authorization standards and protocols (OpenID Connect, SCIM, OAuth, SAML, AD/LDAP, Federation, SSO)
  • Experience designing, building and/or operating complex Access Models using industry standards (RBAC/ABAC/PBAC)
  • Experience running services on top of a Cloud computing platform (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP)
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java (preferred) or Python
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Product focused mindset
