Senior Software Engineer, Open Connect Edge Accelerator

Netflix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Open Connect Edge Accelerator team. Open Connect is a critical group that builds and manages a content delivery network (CDN) handling more than one third of North American internet traffic at peak times. The role involves improving latency, steering solutions, low-latency reverse proxy, failover mechanisms, protocol optimizations, and DDoS protection. The ideal candidate should have deep understanding of Internet protocols, experience with distributed systems, and strong communication skills. Required Skills:

• Deep understanding of Internet protocols (TCP, TLS, HTTP, DNS)
• Experience with highly distributed, scalable, low-latency, fault-tolerant production systems
• Great communication and documentation skills
• Problem-solving abilities and cool-headedness during production issues

Bonus Skills:

• Go, C, or Python programming
• Data analysis using tools like Hive, Pig, Kibana, Tableau
• FreeBSD or POSIX environment experience
• Application, system, and network profiling techniques
