Description For Power Optimization and Analysis Engineer – New College Grad 2024

NVIDIA is seeking a Power Optimization and Analysis Engineer for new college graduates in 2024. This role is crucial for maintaining NVIDIA's energy-efficient products. The team is responsible for analyzing fullchip and unit-level power data, driving ASIC teams to improve power efficiency, and developing methodologies for energy efficiency. Key responsibilities include developing techniques to model, analyze, and reduce power consumption of NVIDIA GPUs. The role involves collaboration with various teams to study and implement power analysis and reduction techniques for next-generation GPUs and Tegra SOCs. Contributions will provide early insights into energy consumption of graphics and AI workloads, influencing architectural, design, and power management improvements.

Responsibilities include:

  • Using internal and industry-standard tools for pre-silicon power analysis
  • Developing best practices for power analysis
  • Performing comparative power analysis
  • Interacting with architects and RTL designers to interpret power data and identify issues
  • Running various workloads for power analysis
  • Prototyping new architectural features in Verilog and analyzing power

Requirements:

  • Recent BS, MS, or PhD graduate in related fields
  • Strong understanding of energy consumption, estimation, and low power design
  • Familiarity with Verilog and ASIC design principles
  • Knowledge of Power Artist, PTPX tools
  • Strong coding skills in Python, Perl, and C++
  • Data-driven approach to product improvement
