Description For Developer Advocate

PagerDuty is seeking a Developer Advocate to join their diverse, customer-focused team. As a Developer Advocate, you will create useful content for a technical audience, participate in technical communities, and serve as a subject matter expert for your peers. This role focuses on sharing best practices and insights with a technical audience, particularly in incident response, product security, and customer experience.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Writing and speaking about the future of the PagerDuty platform
  • Creating and delivering content for the developer audience
  • Representing PagerDuty at developer conferences
  • Engaging with the PagerDuty community and other technical communities
  • Building relationships with software developers interested in PagerDuty APIs
  • Creating sample apps, extensions, and integrations
  • Improving the developer experience by creating tools for popular languages
  • Defining open source practices for PagerDuty
  • Hosting events to encourage developers to build on PagerDuty's APIs
  • Supporting the developer portal and managing API documentation

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of software development experience, significant coding experience in 1-2 languages, and a passion for learning new technologies. They should be comfortable with APIs, have experience in open source or technical communities, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities For Developer Advocate
