Description For Forward Deployed Site Reliability Engineer - US Government

Palantir Technologies is seeking a Forward Deployed Site Reliability Engineer to join their US Government team in Washington, D.C. This role combines engineering expertise with infrastructure management, requiring a unique blend of skills to maintain high-performance, scalable services primarily across on-premise environments.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $125,000 - $185,000 annually, with additional benefits including RSUs and potential bonuses. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of Linux system administration experience and an active security clearance, as they'll be working with sensitive government systems.

The role involves significant responsibility in maintaining critical infrastructure, requiring approximately 50% travel (both domestic and international). You'll be working with cutting-edge technologies including containers, orchestration platforms, and modern monitoring tools. The position demands expertise in troubleshooting complex systems independently and implementing automation solutions.

Palantir offers an impressive benefits package, including comprehensive health coverage, unlimited PTO, parental leave, and family-building benefits. The company culture emphasizes in-person collaboration with hybrid work options, fostering innovation and team connectivity.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SRE who wants to make a significant impact, working on systems that support important government operations. The role combines technical challenges with meaningful work, as Palantir's platforms help partners develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, and locate missing children.

Key technical requirements include proficiency in programming languages (Java, Go, Python, JavaScript), experience with containers and orchestration platforms, and strong Linux administration skills. Security certifications like DOD 8570 IAT Level II or greater are preferred.

The position offers growth opportunities within Palantir's unique career framework, which focuses on individual strengths rather than traditional career ladders. You'll be part of a team that values excellence and innovation while working on systems that make a real-world impact.
