Pathway, a pioneering AI company backed by over $15M in funding, is seeking Machine Learning/AI Software Engineering interns to join their innovative team. The company is building Live AI™ systems that think and learn in real-time, led by distinguished AI experts including CTO Jan Chorowski and CSO Adrian Kosowski.
The internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI research, specifically focusing on LLM training, benchmarking, and dataset evaluation. Interns will collaborate with a world-class team of scientists and competitive programmers across offices in Palo Alto, Paris, and Wroclaw.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in deep learning research, particularly in Language Models or Reinforcement Learning. Experience with PyTorch, Jax, or Tensorflow is essential, along with understanding of GPU architecture and graph algorithms. The role requires meeting at least one prestigious qualification criterion, such as being an ICPC World Finalist, having published research, or previous internship experience at leading ML research centers.
This hybrid position, based in Palo Alto, CA, offers the chance to be at the forefront of AI innovation, working on foundational changes in how AI models think and learn. The internship runs for 3-6 months, preferably starting August 2025, and requires regular office presence. Responsibilities For Machine Learning / AI Software Engineering Internship
- Support training of LLMs
- Benchmark LLMs
- Prepare and evaluate training datasets
- Support the core Pathway Research Team
Requirements For Machine Learning / AI Software Engineering Internship
- Experience in deep learning research with track record in Language Models and/or RL
- Interest in improving foundational architectures and creating new benchmarks
- Experience with hands-on experiments and model training (PyTorch, Jax, or Tensorflow)
- Good understanding of GPU architecture, memory design, and communication
- Good understanding of graph algorithms
- Familiarity with model monitoring, git, build systems, and CI/CD
- Fluent in English
- Must meet at least one: ICPC World Finalist/IOI/IMO/IPhO medalist, published research paper, completed coding projects, intern at leading ML research center, or faculty recommendation
