Pathway, an innovative AI company backed by over $15M in funding, is seeking Machine Learning/AI Software Engineering interns to join their mission of building Live AI™ systems. The company is led by distinguished AI experts, including CTO Jan Chorowski, who has collaborated with Geoff Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, and CSO Adrian Kosowski, a prodigy who earned his PhD at age 20.
The internship offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI research, specifically focusing on understanding and advancing LLM technology. Interns will be involved in critical tasks such as LLM training, benchmarking, and dataset preparation, working alongside world-class scientists and competitive programmers.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in deep learning research, particularly in Language Models or Reinforcement Learning. Technical proficiency in model training frameworks (PyTorch, Jax, or Tensorflow), GPU architecture understanding, and graph algorithms is essential. The position requires meeting at least one prestigious criterion, such as being an ICPC World Finalist, having published research, or previous internship experience at leading ML research centers.
This 3-6 month internship, starting preferably in August 2025, offers the chance to be at the forefront of AI innovation, working in a stimulating environment with offices in Paris, France, and Wroclaw, Poland. Responsibilities For Machine Learning / AI Software Engineering Internship
- Support training of LLMs
- Benchmark LLMs
- Prepare and evaluate training datasets
- Support the core Pathway Research Team
Requirements For Machine Learning / AI Software Engineering Internship
- Experience in deep learning research with track record in Language Models and/or RL
- Interest in improving foundational architectures and creating new benchmarks
- Experience with hands-on experiments and model training (PyTorch, Jax, or Tensorflow)
- Good understanding of GPU architecture, memory design, and communication
- Good understanding of graph algorithms
- Familiarity with model monitoring, git, build systems, and CI/CD
- Fluent in English
- Must meet at least one: ICPC World Finalist/IOI/IMO/IPhO medalist, published research paper, completed coding projects, intern at leading ML research center, or faculty recommendation
