Sr. Avid Editorial Engineer

Pixar Animation Studios is seeking a Senior Avid Editorial Engineer to join our team in Emeryville, California. As the Senior Avid Editorial Engineer, you'll be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of our editorial systems, from initial design through implementation and ongoing support. This position requires a deep understanding of editorial workflows combined with strong technical expertise to maintain and optimize our critical content creation infrastructure.

Your role will involve close collaboration with various stakeholders, including fellow engineers, editorial teams, production staff, and industry partners. You'll be tasked with providing expert-level support for Avid Media Composer software and hardware, managing the editorial computer fleet, and maintaining the physical infrastructure of edit suites. The position requires strong problem-solving skills as you'll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical issues ranging from simple to complex.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing and maintaining the editorial computer fleet
• Serving as the primary liaison with Avid for software issues and feature requests
• Monitoring and managing the Avid NEXIS storage system
• Designing and implementing both on-site and remote hardware solutions
• Providing expert guidance to editorial staff on best practices
• Creating and maintaining comprehensive system documentation

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 7+ years of experience in editorial technical support
• Expert knowledge of Avid media management and shared storage environments
• Strong understanding of audio systems and post-production workflows
• Advanced proficiency in macOS and Windows operating systems
• Deep understanding of networking principles and storage technologies

We offer a competitive salary range of $145,265 to $187,990 per year, with the actual offer depending on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
