Job Description

The company specializes in standalone energy storage development, which is crucial for transitioning to renewable energy as it's more cost-effective and efficient than traditional solutions.

As Principal Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll lead key cybersecurity initiatives, reporting to the IT Manager. You'll work across multiple teams including IT, Data Engineering, Data Science, Operational Technology, and others to develop and implement security strategies and policies. The role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to protect both corporate and project infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include managing the company's security posture, implementing security controls, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with frameworks like SOX, ISO, and NERC-CIP. You'll also build and manage the Third-Party Cyber Risk Management program and communicate security metrics to executives.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of security experience, deep technical expertise in areas like network security and cryptography, and strong programming skills. You'll work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment focused on decarbonizing power markets while maintaining robust security standards.

Responsibilities For Principal Cybersecurity Engineer - Battery Storage

  • Lead and execute key cybersecurity activities and protections
  • Work with stakeholders to drive cybersecurity program implementation
  • Promote secure by design and secure by default strategies
  • Monitor and assess security vulnerabilities across OT and IT environments
  • Manage Compliance & Security Posture Management Platforms
  • Build and run Third-Party Cyber Risk Management Program
  • Communicate security metrics to senior executives
  • Work with Legal and Compliance teams on security controls

Requirements For Principal Cybersecurity Engineer - Battery Storage

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in identifying security issues and developing mitigation plans
  • Deep hands-on technical expertise in network security, embedded/hardware security, or cryptography
  • Experience with scripting/software development skills (Python, Rust)
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (SOC2, ISO27001, NIST)
  • Experience with security technologies (Email Security, DLP, CSPM, ZTNA, EDR/XDR)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
