Description For Associate Systems Engineer

As an Associate Systems Engineer at Pure Storage, you'll play a key role in supporting the SE organization through activities that drive customer adoption and lifecycle management of products and solutions. You'll assist internal teams with configuration validation, collect data for sales plays, work with sizing tools, be involved in account planning, assist with solution designs, provide demonstrations and technical support to customers, and work cross-functionally with various departments. This role combines pre-sales and post-sales activities to optimize customer engagement and satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with configuration validation and data collection
  • Using sizing tools to provide optimal product performance solutions
  • Participating in account planning and solution designs
  • Conducting basic demonstrations and answering technical questions
  • Supporting both pre-sales and post-sales activities
  • Driving technical account management for seamless implementation and support

Requirements:

  • BS in CS, EE, or equivalent technical degree/experience
  • 2+ years of experience (technology industry preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and apply critical thinking
  • Passion for technology and aptitude to learn new technologies
  • Willingness to travel domestically 5-10% of the time
  • Knowledge of storage architectures, VMware, Windows, UNIX OS variants, and network environments is helpful

Responsibilities For Associate Systems Engineer

  • Assist internal teams with configuration validation in support of sales opportunities
  • Collect and acquire data for use in the creation of sales plays and lifecycle management programs
  • Work with established programs and sizing tools to provide customers with optimal product performance solutions
  • Be involved in the Account Planning process as part of a larger team
  • Assist with solution designs and take point on simple designs
  • Assist prospects and customers with basic demonstrations, system configurations, feature adoption, and technical questions
  • Work cross-functionally with internal departments such as Customer Support, Professional Services, Renewal, Sales Operations, and Order Management
  • Support both pre-sales and post-sales activities to optimize customer engagement and satisfaction
  • Drive technical account management to ensure seamless implementation and ongoing support of Pure Storage solutions

Requirements For Associate Systems Engineer

Linux
  • BS in CS, EE or other technical degree and/or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience (technology industry preferred)
  • Strong phone presence and experience in a high-volume customer interaction environment
  • Conscientious attitude and dependability, strengths in teamwork and communication
  • Confident, articulate and professional speaking abilities, and a strong ability to listen
  • Ability to collect data, identify problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Preparation and delivery of technical product and architecture presentations
  • Passion for technology and aptitude to learn new technologies
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and proactively
  • Demonstrated listening, written communication and product presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects, in real-time scenarios
  • Apply critical thinking techniques to work through customer situations and interactions
  • Domestic, overnight travel 5-10% of the time
  • Willingness to relocate upon promotion
