Pure Storage is seeking component engineers to work in our Global Commodity Engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing the qualification process for components, as well as leading failure analysis activities. This role requires a strong understanding of quality assurance principles, IC component design, manufacturing, qualification process and reliability tests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with operation engineers, design engineers, commodity managers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to establish qualification criteria and standards.
- Define, implement, and execute component qualification criteria and procedures.
- Lead failure analysis investigations to identify root causes and provide recommendations.
- Participate in yield improvement activities.
- Collaborate with suppliers on quality requirements and compliance monitoring.
- Develop commodity strategy and supplier quality metrics.
- Responsible for supplier selection, qualification, and audits.
- Identify alternate sourcing to mitigate BOM risk.
- Apply technical expertise to assess component reliability during quality excursions.
- Analyze and implement Product Change Notifications (PCN) and manage approved vendor lists.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of component experience in IC design, manufacturing, test, quality, and reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in quality engineering, component qualification, and failure analysis.
- Proficiency in diverse testing and analysis techniques.
- System integration experience in the network storage industry preferred.
- Component knowledge with DRAM, DIMM, NAND, and IC components required.
- Experience with PLM systems and Supply Chain Risk Management tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong quality and reliability standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
