Description For Post Silicon Power and Performance Engineer - Engineer level

As a Post Silicon Power and Performance Engineer with a focus on CPUs, you will work to characterize, debug, and optimize the performance and power consumption of CPUs in a complex SoC system. You will help set up methodologies, develop validation plans, recommend tuning optimizations, and verify that the newly arrived silicon meets the highest performance standards. You will also participate in architecture and product definition feedback for the next generation of CPU by closing the loop with real silicon analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute end-to-end performance and power analysis plans for complex CPU subsystems
  • Debug issues found during pre-silicon, bring-up, validation, and production phases of SOC programs
  • Define an optimization strategy that delivers world-class CPU workload performance
  • Lead collaborative test approach with multiple teams, and track test execution to ensure all features are performant and optimized on time
  • Work closely with supporting teams in design, architecture, emulation, firmware, design verification and software
  • Develop deep knowledge of CPU architecture, SoC system architecture, system benchmarking techniques, and power reduction and optimization methods
  • Drive technical innovation to enhance capabilities in CPU performance, system performance and power validation

This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field, with expertise in CPU architecture, performance analysis, and power optimization. You'll need excellent programming skills, analytical abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.

Qualcomm offers a competitive salary range of $103,600 to $155,400 for this position, along with a comprehensive benefits package including annual bonuses, RSU grants, and various health and wellness programs.
